This Privacy Policy explains what data Sei Wallet Labs Inc collects when you use Sei Wallet, what we do with it, and what rights you have. The short version: Sei Wallet is non-custodial and runs locally on your device. We don't collect data we don't need, and we don't have a backend that holds your funds or your seed phrase.
What we collect
From the wallet app
Sei Wallet runs locally on your device. By default, the wallet:
- Does not send your seed phrase or private keys to any server, ever, under any circumstances.
- Does not track which dApps you connect to.
- Does not track which validators you stake with.
- Does not track your balance, transaction history, or trading activity.
- Does not include analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Segment, no Sentry, no equivalent).
The wallet does make these network requests:
- RPC calls to Sei chain endpoints to read balances, broadcast transactions, and sync state. These go to public Sei chain RPCs (configurable in Settings). The RPC operator can see the IP address making the request.
- Update checks at app launch, to see if a new version is available. This sends only "what version do I currently run" — no other data.
- Optional features that you explicitly enable may make additional requests. Each such feature discloses its data practices when you enable it.
From the website (seiwallet.net)
- Server logs containing IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and HTTP status code. Standard web server logs. Retained for 30 days for operational purposes (debugging, abuse detection), then deleted.
- Aggregate analytics via a privacy-respecting provider (Plausible or Fathom — not Google Analytics). Aggregate page-view counts, no individual-user tracking, no cookies.
- Form submissions if you contact us via hello@seiwallet.net or similar. We retain the email content for as long as needed to respond.
We do NOT use:
- Tracking cookies.
- Cross-site advertising pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing).
- Third-party analytics that track you across sites.
- Session-replay tools (no Hotjar, no FullStory).
What we don't collect
Specifically, we don't collect:
- Your seed phrase or any cryptographic key.
- Your wallet addresses (sei1 or 0x), balances, or transaction signatures.
- IP addresses linked to identities — server logs hold IPs for 30 days for ops only and are not joined to user accounts (we don't have user accounts).
- Your name, email, phone number, or government ID — Sei Wallet is self-custody, so we don't need to know who you are.
- Your address book, contacts, calendar, or any device-level data.
- Your geographic location beyond what's inferable from your IP address in our server logs.
- Your credit card, bank account, or other payment information.
What we do with what we collect
Server logs
Used for debugging, abuse detection (e.g., DDoS mitigation), and operational visibility. Logs are not sold or shared with third parties. Retained for 30 days.
Aggregate analytics
Used to understand which pages get traffic, where users come from in aggregate, and what device classes (mobile vs desktop) we should prioritize. Aggregate-only — never about individual users.
Email correspondence
Used to respond to your inquiry. Retained for as long as the inquiry is open plus 12 months for follow-up purposes, then deleted unless you've opted into ongoing communication.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (US states with privacy laws, EU/UK GDPR, others), you may have rights to access, delete, correct, object to processing, or receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
For the wallet itself: there's no data on our servers to access, delete, or correct, because we don't have your data. The wallet runs locally; the data is on your device.
For the website: server logs and email correspondence are the only data we hold. To exercise rights regarding these, contact privacy@seiwallet.net. We respond to verified requests within 30 days (or the maximum your jurisdiction's law allows, whichever is shorter).
How we share data
We don't sell user data. There's nothing meaningful to sell — the wallet is non-custodial. We may share data only when:
- Required by law — a valid legal request from a government agency in our jurisdiction (US/NY). We don't volunteer data; we comply only with valid legal process. We will, where legally permitted, notify users before complying.
- Service providers that help us operate (hosting, email). They access only what's necessary, under contracts that prohibit secondary use.
- Business transfer — if Sei Wallet Labs Inc is acquired or merges, the acquirer would inherit the data we hold (which is minimal). Users would be notified beforehand.
Children
Sei Wallet is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU, or your local equivalent). We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact privacy@seiwallet.net and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Sei Wallet Labs Inc is incorporated in the US. Server logs and business records are stored in the US. Users in the EU/UK should note this transfer occurs. We use standard contractual clauses where applicable, and our minimal data collection limits the practical impact of cross-border transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be disclosed at least 30 days before they take effect, via the "Last updated" date above, an in-wallet notification on the next launch, and email to users who have explicitly opted into updates.
