These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sei Wallet, a desktop application built by Sei Wallet Labs Inc ("we," "us," "Sei Wallet Labs"). Using Sei Wallet means you agree to these Terms.

The short version: Sei Wallet is non-custodial software you run on your own device. We don't hold your funds; you do. We provide the software as-is. You're responsible for your seed phrase and your decisions. We cannot recover your funds if you lose your seed phrase.

1. The service

Sei Wallet is a desktop wallet application for the Sei blockchain. The application:

  • Runs locally on your device (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Generates and stores a seed phrase encrypted on your device.
  • Signs transactions for you to broadcast to the Sei chain.
  • Connects to public Sei chain infrastructure (RPC endpoints, block explorers).
  • Integrates with hardware wallets (Ledger) at your option.

We don't:

  • Hold custody of your funds (you do, via your seed phrase).
  • Have a way to recover lost seed phrases.
  • Have a way to freeze, reverse, or refund transactions.
  • Provide investment advice or trading recommendations.
  • Verify or endorse the dApps you connect to.

2. Your responsibilities

You agree that:

  • You are responsible for your seed phrase. Anyone with your seed phrase controls your funds. If you lose it, your funds are unrecoverable.
  • You are responsible for your transactions. Once a transaction is broadcast to the chain, it cannot be reversed.
  • You are responsible for your device security. Keep your operating system updated, use anti-malware tools, and use a hardware wallet for high-value balances.
  • You are responsible for your tax obligations. Crypto transactions may be taxable events in your jurisdiction. Sei Wallet doesn't provide tax advice or tax reporting.
  • You are responsible for compliance with applicable law. Some jurisdictions restrict crypto transactions, certain dApps, or staking.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use Sei Wallet. Sei Wallet is not directed at minors.

You may not use Sei Wallet if:

  • You are located in or a national of a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive US sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea/Donetsk/Luhansk regions of Ukraine).
  • You are listed on US government sanctions lists (OFAC SDN, etc.).
  • You are using Sei Wallet to evade sanctions, fund terrorism, launder money, or commit any other illegal activity.

4. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Sei Wallet on your devices, subject to these Terms. The underlying source code is open source under the Apache License 2.0; the license terms govern any modification or redistribution.

You may not:

  • Use Sei Wallet to provide services to third parties without separate written agreement.
  • Reverse-engineer the wallet to extract our signing keys (you may reverse-engineer for security research, interoperability, or compliance with applicable law).
  • Remove our copyright notices or branding without permission.
  • Use our trademarks ("Sei Wallet," "Sei Wallet Labs") in ways that imply endorsement of unrelated products.

5. No warranty

Sei Wallet is provided "as-is" and "as-available." We make no warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We don't warrant:

  • That Sei Wallet will be error-free or available without interruption.
  • That the Sei chain will operate as expected.
  • That any dApp you connect to via Sei Wallet is safe, legal, or functional.
  • That the value of any token will increase, decrease, or remain stable.

Some jurisdictions don't allow disclaimers of implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, our warranties are limited to the narrowest extent permitted by law.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to Sei Wallet is limited to $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which is zero for the free wallet), whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for losses caused by chain failure, validator failure or slashing, dApp bugs, third-party attacks, your seed phrase being lost or stolen, your device being compromised, or any cause outside our reasonable control.

This section applies even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sei Wallet Labs Inc, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of Sei Wallet, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or rights of a third party, or your dispute with another user, dApp, validator, or chain participant.

8. Updates to the wallet

We may release updates to Sei Wallet. Updates may add features, fix bugs, address security issues, or modify the user experience. Critical security updates may be required to continue using the wallet — older versions may stop functioning if they pose risk to users. You are responsible for installing updates promptly when prompted.

9. Termination

You may stop using Sei Wallet at any time by uninstalling the application. Your funds remain on the chain and are accessible via your seed phrase from any compatible wallet.

We may discontinue Sei Wallet entirely with at least 90 days' notice (except in cases of legal compulsion or force majeure). If we do, your funds remain accessible — they're on the chain, not in our possession.

10. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Sei Wallet will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you a different right. You and Sei Wallet Labs each waive the right to a jury trial.

11. DMCA & security disclosures

For copyright complaints under the DMCA, contact legal@seiwallet.net. We respond to valid takedown notices in accordance with US law.

For security vulnerability reports, contact security@seiwallet.net (PGP key available at /.well-known/security.txt). We operate a bug bounty program — see /security for scope and payout ranges. Good-faith research conducted under our disclosure policy is not subject to legal action under Section 4 of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be disclosed at least 30 days before they take effect, via the "Last updated" date above and an in-wallet notification on the next launch. Continuing to use Sei Wallet after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
